1.1 Purpose, organisation, structure
To provide, according to the needs of the person, during the working days, during the day, the opportunity for adults with visual impairments of the Riga City Municipality to maintain and develop social skills, to learn and spend their free time in a meaningful way, making social contacts, gaining support, engaging in various individual, group and community activities.
Organisation of work at the Strazdumuiza Day Centre:
- The Day Centre operates in accordance with the Day Centre’s internal rules and regulations, the Day Centre’s statutes, and the job descriptions of the manager and staff.
- Clients are identified and registered; daily visits are individually recorded in the day centre’s electronic logbook.
- Customer data is processed in compliance with the requirements of data protection laws and regulations.
- The staff (group leaders) organise the activities, planning them for each month and coordinating with the leader, making any necessary adjustments to the work process.
- Client feedback on activities and events is listened to and regularly collected – including through questionnaires.

The day centre service for adults up to 20 persons per day is co-financed from the Riga City Municipality budget.
