About the collective

It was led by Visvaldis Čakste, Linards Apinis and many other directors. 1995. In 2007, after a merger with the fiction readers, the Jugla Theatre acquired its current name – Strazdumuiža Drama and Poetry Theatre.

Since 2006, the company has been led by Inese Vanaga, who was an actress at the theatre for 12 years before that. Over the years, the theatre has become better known, has gained friends and supporters in many countries.
