The Riga Territorial Organisation (hereinafter – RTO) is the largest structural unit of the Latvian Association of the Blind. The RTO works to protect the rights and interests of blind and partially sighted people, and organises various entertainment and educational events to give blind and partially sighted people the opportunity to learn new skills and socialise with each other. These types of activities are vital for blind and partially sighted people to better integrate into society and develop various practical skills, as well as to improve communication, not only among themselves but also with people without disabilities.
The RTO, in cooperation with state and local authorities, organises various information and education campaigns to educate and inform the public about the needs of blind and partially sighted people in public places and in society in general.
We offer Latvian, Russian and English conversational training once a week.
We run a book lovers’ club, providing information and answers to a wide range of questions and helping our members to solve them.
