About the Society

The Latvian Society of the Blind is the largest and oldest public benefit organisation uniting and representing 1., 2. and the interests of people with visual impairments in Latvia.

The Latvian Blind Society is the largest non-governmental organisation in Latvia, bringing together people with visual impairments, legal members and supporters. The Central Board and activists of the LNB participate in public policy-making, defending the interests of their members. Senior staff cooperate with the Ministry of Welfare and are active members of the Council for the Disabled, which discusses draft laws and regulations in the social sphere, transport services, environmental accessibility, etc.
