Active Citizens Foundation visits Latvian Society of the Blind

Today, the Latvian Association of the Blind was visited by representatives of the Active Citizens Fund, who concluded a cycle of evaluation talks with 6 organisations that have received funding from the Active Citizens Fund in the pilot programme of long-term activity support. During the conversation we discussed how the AIF funding   activities to strengthen the rule of law, citizens’ awareness of democratic processes and feedback to citizens. For the first time, a flexible funding model is used to support institutions, allowing the AIF to effectively and fully achieve its objectives in both the field of democratic culture and human rights.

The project is developing the Webbox3 system and database, which will allow visually impaired people to access information, news portals, podcasts, magazines with the help of specialised tifl technology Webbox3. Now it is possible to apply for Webbox3 at the tiflotehnika department of the Latvian Society for the Blind.
