Erasmus+ project 2022-2-LV01-KA210-ADU-000099955 “Education is key” starts

Erasmus+ project “Education is key” launches

From 3 April 2023 to 5 January 2024, the Latvian Association of the Blind (LAB) and the Muhu Youth Centre (Muhu Noortekeskus) from Estonia will launch the Eramus+ project “Education is key”. The project has two objectives:

– Develop the LNB youth organisation as a less experienced project partner and train youth workers, including by creating a new brand for the LNB youth organisation and a section on the LNB website;

– To show young people from both organisations the importance of education for career development and success.

During the project, youth workers will exchange experiences in the Muhu youth organisation and at the end of the project in the LNB youth organisation. Throughout the project, the LNB youth will produce podcasts on topics of interest to them, explore the different training programmes and make reviews of their availability on the LNB website, as well as participate in a week-long youth exchange in Valmiera with Muhu youth in July.
At the end of the project, the LNB Youth Organisation will have a team of trained youth workers, a brand and a dedicated section on the LNB website, and a group of active members (young people with visual impairments) who, together with the youth workers, can continue to build the organisation and plan activities of interest, education and relevance to them.

Young people aged 16 to 25 are invited to participate. Please apply by 11 April to take part in the podcasts and/or the curriculum exploration. For the youth exchange, please apply by 31 May. To apply, send an email to berzinskri@gmail.com.

We also invite LNB members who wish to become volunteer youth workers of the LNB youth organisation to participate in the project and continue to be actively involved in the youth organisation’s work after the end of the project. There is no age limit for youth workers, just a willingness to learn something new, be active and have a good command of the English language. To apply, send an email to berzinskri@gmail.com by 17 April.
