This year the Latvian Association of the Blind (LAB) started working in the project “EU Fund Supervisors”, where together with the lead partner Domnīca Providus / Centre for Public Policy Providus and 4 other organisations, we are involved in the sub-committees of the European Union Funds Monitoring.
Three experts from the LNB – a Social Expert , a European Union Funds Monitoring Coordinator and a Social Finance Expert – will serve on the “A More Social Europe” sub-committee.
Our aim is to be actively involved in the Social Europe Sub-Committee at in order to monitor the type of investments that are planned to improve well-being in Latvia and to ensure that these investments include social economy players – NGOs, social enterprises, etc.
Our aim is to be actively involved in the Social Europe Sub-Committee at in order to monitor the type of investments that are planned to improve well-being in Latvia and to ensure that these investments include social economy players – NGOs, social enterprises, etc.
Investment projects from different ministries are reviewed on a monthly basis – their descriptions, planned Cabinet regulations, criteria and evaluation methodologies.
Our main objective is to actively participate in the “A more Social Europe” sub-committee to monitor planned investments to improve well-being in Latvia. We try to ensure that these investments involve different social groups, actors such as NGOs representing people with specific needs. Every month we analyse investment projects from different ministries, studying their descriptions, planned cabinet regulations, criteria and evaluation methodologies. This process allows us to follow and properly evaluate the planned investments in order to promote social well-being in the country and meet the needs of different social groups.
The project will provide both training on monitoring EU funds and support materials.
